چکیده

In vitro simulation of natural caries is great importance in dental research for the development more effective clinical treatments. The pH-cycling (pHc) procedure consists a dynamic process with alternating de-remineralisation periods. current aims to evaluate effects pHc on mineral dentine properties comparison sound and residual caries. For this purpose, slices from human third molars were submitted cycling periods 14 28 days. chemical composition, morphological microstructural samples examined by infrared Raman spectroscopies, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy techniques. addition, depth demineralisation front was evaluated Masson’s trichrome (MT) staining. results showed that led notable changes composition crystalline characteristics respect some extent MT revealed yields deeper lesion than 14, simulating potential progression study provide better understanding mechanisms could occur an vivo environment standardised substrate similar

Surface Hardness Measurment and Microstructural Characterisation of Steel by X-Ray Diffraction Profile Analysis

An X-ray diffraction line will broaden considerably when steels change into martensitic structure on quenching. The results presented in this paper show that X-ray diffraction technique can be employed for a rapid and nondestructive measurement of hardness of hardened steel. Measurement on various quenched and tempered steels showed that the breadth of its diffraction peak increased with increa...

Bacterial Profile of Dentine Caries and the Impact of pH on Bacterial Population Diversity

Dental caries is caused by the release of organic acids from fermentative bacteria, which results in the dissolution of hydroxyapatite matrices of enamel and dentine. While low environmental pH is proposed to cause a shift in the consortium of oral bacteria, favouring the development of caries, the impact of this variable has been overlooked in microbial population studies. This study aimed to ...

Microstructural Characterisation of Chromium Slags

J. Burja, F. Tehovnik, F. Vode, B. Arh, Institute of Metals and Technology, Ljubljana, Slovenia In this chromium slags that form during melting of chromium alloyed steels are examined. During melting and oxidation of these steel grades a considerable amount of chromium is lost, and gained back with slag reduction. Laboratory experiments were performed to study the mechanism of chromium oxide re...

remineralizing effect of child formula dentifrices on artificial enamel caries using a ph cycling model.

although fluoridated toothpastes are among the most accessible fluoride sources for caries prevention, their remineralization potential remains questionable. this study sought to compare the effects of 5 different child formula dentifrices on remineralization of artificial primary enamel caries using a ph cycling model.twenty sound primary canine teeth were immersed in demineralizing solution f...

An in vitro investigation of microtensile bond strengths of two dentine adhesives to caries-affected dentine.

OBJECTIVES To compare the micro-tensile bond strengths of two different adhesive systems (ABF (Clearfil Protect Bond), Kuraray Medical Inc., Tokyo, Japan) and Prime & Bond NT (PBNT, Dentsply, Konstanz, Germany) bonded to caries-affected dentine retained after chemo-mechanical caries removal using Carisolv gel, with that retained after excavation using conventional hand instrumentation. METHOD...
